Results Second Round of European Universities
On 9 July the European Commission published the results of the European Universities second call
: 24 new consortia have been selected. European Universities
are transnational alliances of European Higher Education Institutions. The Initiative already selected 17 consortia during its first call in 2019. It aims to increase cooperation, and address both societal challenges and skills shortages in Europe. The European Universities are supported through Erasmus+ and Horizon 2020 funds.
The European Commission’s press release quotes Mariya Gabriel, Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth, commenting: "I am very pleased to see that a diverse range of higher education institutions from all Member States and beyond are now involved in the 41 European Universities. […] These European Universities are a key building block for the European Education Area.”
ELIA is particularly glad to see multiple Higher Arts Education Institutions represented in the programme, and warmly congratulates all our members who are part of a winning consortium. As associate partner, ELIA is also very pleased to announce the selection of FILMEU, the European Film Universities Alliance for Film and Media.
